Pre-summit day of WGS 2024 begins in Dubai

Dubai: The World Governments Summit (WGS) 2024 pre-summit day got underway in Dubai. The summit, with the theme “Shaping Future Governments,” will formally open tomorrow and run through February 14.”

Senior officials, experts, futurists, decision-makers, thought leaders, and representatives of international organizations are among the many attendees of the Arab Fiscal Forum and the Arab Meeting for Young Leaders on the pre-summit day.

More than 25 heads of state and government, more than 85 global and regional organizations, 120 government delegations, and a collection of international thought leaders and experts come together on the global platform known as the WGS.

With 200 international speakers, the summit will cover significant global future trends in more than 110 main dialogue and interactive sessions. Furthermore, there will be over 23 ministerial meetings and executive sessions in which over 300 ministers will take part.

The theme of the 8th Arab Fiscal Forum is “Designing more efficient and equitable fiscal policies to address debt vulnerabilities and future fiscal challenges in a world of tighter financing constraints.” The Ministry of Finance is organizing the forum in collaboration with the Arab Monetary Fund and the International Monetary Fund.

The third edition of the “Arab Meeting for Young Leaders” features several youth studies, experiences, and initiatives at the Arab level that focus on skill development, empowerment, and capacity building. These programs help increase young people’s involvement in the Arab world’s process of sustainable development. The meeting also covers how values help young people develop aspects of their national identity.

In addition to the Arab Meeting for Young Leaders, the WGS 2024 continues its varied dialogues through forums like the Artificial Intelligence Forum, the Future of Work Forum, the Emerging Economies Forum, the Governance of Geotechnology Forum, and the Sustainable Development Goals Forum.
