Dubai: Al Jalila Foundation, which leads the giving mission for Dubai Health, the first integrated academic health system in Dubai, and Positive Zero, the largest decentralized decarbonization infrastructure business headquartered in the UAE, have launched a solar power project installed on the rooftop and carport of Al Jalila Foundation’s premises.

Delivered by SirajPower, Positive Zero’s power generation subsidiary and the region’s top distributed solar energy provider in the UAE, the project is a 20-year solar lease agreement that includes full, end-to-end services covering all facets of the solar rooftop and carport systems. Over the course of the contract, the rooftop and carport of Al Jalila Foundation are expected to provide 4,403 MWh (megawatt hours) of clean solar electricity for the organization’s offices. This will help cut carbon emissions by 3,121 metric tons, or almost 51,600 tree seedlings.

Dr. Amer Al Zarooni, Chief Executive Officer of Al Jalila Foundation, said that, “This partnership between Al Jalila Foundation and Positive Zero exemplifies our steadfast commitment to safeguarding the environment, promoting sustainability, and igniting hope for a more vibrant, eco-friendly tomorrow. This transformative solar initiative symbolizes our dedication to embracing clean energy and our collective goal to reduce carbon emission in alignment with Dubai Health’s vision of advancing health for humanity.”

The project’s systems were built, financed, operated for a long time, and had proactive maintenance provided by Positive Zero’s staff. The project is built on Positive Zero’s approach of offering clean energy as a service, meaning that clients don’t have to pay anything up front.

This makes clean energy and efficiency solutions more accessible to a larger number of organizations looking to change the way they use energy.

The founding companies of Positive Zero have already achieved notable progress in important GCC markets. With more than 140 MWp, SirajPower has the largest distributed solar energy portfolio in the area. Over 100,000 MWh of energy savings have been realized by Taka Solutions in more than eight sectors. The first of its type in the area, HYPR Energy’s clean energy on-demand mobile battery unit has made cleaner, more affordable power available to off-grid locations like construction sites.
