President meets with leaders of IMF and Abu Dhabi Fund

Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Kristalina Georgieva, as well as Director General of the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi have paid courtesy calls on President Dr Mohamed Muizzu on Monday.

The visits were conducted today on the sidelines of the World Governments Summit 2024, in Dubai.

As per the President’s Office, the President and the Director General of ADFD held discussions on the continuing strong bilateral relations between the two countries, as well as the many ways in which the fund is supporting the development of the Maldives.

The President expressed gratitude for the continued support from the ADFD, and the Director General pledged continued assistance to the Maldives. They further deliberated on cooperation in the fields of tourism, agriculture, health, economic, as well as development sectors.

Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Kristalina Georgieva also met with President Dr Mohamed Muizzu today.

The President’s Office has not yet published any details regarding the meeting.

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu is currently in United Arab Emirates to join the World Governments Summit 2024, as well as the Maldives Investment Forum.

The President is in the UAE at the invitation of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President, Prime Minister and Minister for Defence of the United Arab Emirates, Ruler of Dubai.

A delegation of cabinet ministers, business leaders and entrepreneurs are accompanying him on the trip.
